As a Production Controller you will be responsible for overseeing the running of the workshop ensuring internal and external customer satisfaction. Ensuring that individual technician’s performance is optimised, and work is progressed through in an efficient manner with the aim of first time fix every time. Ensure that daily disciplines and DWP processes are implemented and followed for all staff on site.
For this position the successful candidate ideally have a background in heavy commercial vehicles (or similar). The role requires operational and commercial knowledge, alongside the ability to multi-task and make proactive decisions in a timely and efficient manner.
The Role
- Oversee the running of the workshop and supervisors on a daily basis.
- Deputise for the depot manager when not on site.
- Assist and guide the productive team with fault diagnosis and live job management.
- Quality control and excellent customer satisfaction.
- Ensure that the DWP and job card procedures are followed.
- Communicate with the team to ensure the planner and customers are updated.
- Hold customer reviews and help the depot manager to generate additional business.
- Staff development and apprentice mentoring.
- Oversee health and safety in the workshop.

- Qualifications required City & Guilds part 1 & 2 / BTEC / IMI (or equivalent) in motor vehicle management or equivalent practical experience in the commercial vehicle industry.
Hours of Work
Monday to Friday 08.00am until 17.00pm with 1 in 3 Saturday mornings 08.00am until 12.00 noon.
