Dennison Group Environmental Policy

This policy is relevant to the Dennison Group, incorporating Dennison Commercials, Dennison Rentals, Dennison Bodyshop and Dennison Industrial Estates. As a Volvo Truck & Bus dealer, it is within our Franchise Agreement that we comply with the Volvo Core Values of Quality, Safety and Environmental Care. Volvo has a responsibility as one of the world's biggest manufacturers of heavy commercial vehicles, and therefore bears a clear responsibility for reducing the environmental impact of its products. A long history of proactive environmental programmes has provided us, by association with Volvo Group, with an opportunity of strengthening both our own and our customers' competitiveness, while contributing to positive societal development. We are stringently audited by Volvo Group UK to ensure that we comply with the Volvo core values, and that we continue to minimize the impact of the truck / bus product over the full lifecycle of the vehicle.

Our Environmental Policy guides us to integrate environmental issues into all of our activities and set high standards through continuous improvement in our environmental performance, by formulating, communicating and monitoring clearly defined objectives and action plans and engaging our employees.

Dennison Group endeavours to:

  • Identify all aspects of the business which can have a detrimental effect on the environment
  • Measure the impact we have on the environment and set targets to reduce those impacts
  • Minimise waste by evaluating operations and ensuring they are as efficient as possible
  • Actively promote recycling
  • Source and promote raw materials to minimise the environmental impact of operations
  • Meet or exceed all the environmental legislation that relates to the Company
  • We also ensure that suppliers promote the principles of sound environmental practice. In order to comply with the Controlled Waste and Duty of Care Regulations (NI) 2013, we outsource the disposal of waste products to external, fully licenced suppliers accredited to ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 standards as a minimum. This means that we can be assured that all waste products are disposed of in the most appropriate and environmentally conscious manner.

Breach of this Policy

The Managing Director is responsible for the implementation of this policy and will make the necessary resources available to realise our environmental responsibilities. The responsibility for our performance related to this policy rests with all our employees throughout the Dennison Group. Should the behaviours of any of our employees be found to be inconsistent with the intention and commitments made in this policy then, pending investigation, the company’s disciplinary procedure may be invoked.
