Transport Solutions Executive - Teesside

Due to the continued Volvo Group growth we have a fantastic and rare opportunity for an enthusiastic, forward thinking Salesperson to join our team based at our Teesside depot. We are looking for a team player that is professional in their approach, orginised and has great time management skills to drive sales and services within their market area.

This position would suit someone who likes a varied and busy role in a professional, yet 'down to earth' environment. You would be expected to sell the complete range of products and services in line with our Total Solutions Strategy, in addition to the sale of the New Volvo Trucks Portfolio. Your responsibilities within the role will include, however may not be limited to the following:

  • To sell the complete range of Volvo trucks, products and services in line with the Total Solutions Strategy exceeding the levels detailed in regional business plan for the defined selling area.
  • To prepare and implement regional strategy, to market and sell Volvo product and services within TSE’s required area.
  • Ability to adapt or amend strategy depending on market conditions and changes to Volvo product and services.
  • To ensure maximum customer satisfaction is always achieved.
  • Effective management and use of the Customer Relationship Management system to actively prospect for business and maintain customer relationships both with existing and new customers.
  • To provide timely and accurate quotations to customers always utilising group systems provided.
  • To actively participate in the Commercial Crew meetings and regular business reviews with your key internal contacts for regional plan management and to exchange ideas, customer leads and information.
  • Contribute to the region’s requirement to proactively manage cost and credit control in order to maximise the opportunity to grow profit.
  • To attend and support customer events as and when required, this may include events outside the UK and outside of normal working hours as and when the business requires.
  • Work in accordance with Volvo Group UK standards of health, safety, quality and environmental care. 

Ideally you would have knowledge of Volvo Trucks and an HGV license, however this is not essential. Experience of building effective relationships with customers is essential along with IT literacy and presentation skills.

You must be customer focused with the drive to learn and build strong relationships with colleagues and customers. You must take a pro-active approach and have the ability to manage your time effectively.

Motor trade knowledge would be advantageous but not essential, however we would be looking for sales experience and a higher level of education particularly in numeracy skills.  If this sounds like a role that you would be interested in and you are looking for your next exciting career challenge, then we would love to hear from you.
