Workshop Supervisor (Galway)

Irish Commercials require a Workshop Supervisor for their Galway Depot to provide excellent customer service and deliver high quality, hands on maintenance, service, fault diagnosis and repair of HGV vehicles.

Job Purpose:    
To provide excellent customer service and deliver high quality, hands on, maintenance, service, fault diagnosis and repair of HGV vehicles.


Key Responsibilities & Duties:
• Allocate jobs to technicians matching relevant skill sets and indicating time allowed
• Monitor job progress, maintaining high levels of technician utilisation, efficiency & work quality
• Ensure technicians work within guideline VSTs
• Support technicians with fault diagnosis, service, maintenance and repairs
• Carry out road testing and quality control inspections as required
• Manage and approve all job-related paperwork in line with Company standards
• Ensure high quality and frequency of communication with the Parts Sales Exec regarding workshop loading concerns and/or gaps
• Maintain frequent communication with the Parts Sales Exec regarding job progress and additional repairs/time required
• Ensure approval has been sought from Parts Sales Exec/Customer before additional work begins
• Deliver professional & efficient customer service at all times, setting the standard for technicians
• Address customer technical queries, maximizing workshop business developing opportunities
• Ensure correct working procedures are adhered to, highlighting any errors, safety issues or faulty facility/equipment promptly to the Depot Supervisor, Operations Manager &/or H&S Manager
• Monitor performance & work standards of technicians, administering corrective action with support of management where required
• Comply with and enforce Company Policies and procedures
• Compile & sign-off technician’s working hours for payroll
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping
• Identify training requirements for technicians & apprentices
• Participate in training and development programmes as required by the Company
• Undertake any other duties or activities as required
• Process workshop cash sales invoices
• Provide Parts cover as required


Skills Profile:

• 5+ years post apprenticeship experience required
• Supervisory / leadership experience
• Computer literate
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to work accurately and efficiently under challenging time constraints
• HGV & PSV licences an advantage
